VoxyAI is not responding to keyboard shortcut
Hold fn and shift together to talk; fn on its own does nothing. Also make sure VoxyAI has Accessibility permission in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility. You may need to remove and re-add VoxyAI from the list if you recently updated the app.
Speech is not being recognized
Check that VoxyAI has Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions in System Settings > Privacy & Security. Try speaking closer to your microphone and ensure your microphone is working in other apps.
Text is not being pasted
VoxyAI needs Accessibility permission to paste text. Grant this in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility. Make sure your cursor is in a text field before using VoxyAI.
A model is slow or won't load
Large models need a lot of memory. Open Library > Models > Recommendations and choose a model that fits your Mac, or run the bigger model on another Mac with LLM Host.
Ollama is not connecting
Open Library > Models > Download and click Set up Ollama. VoxyAI installs and starts Ollama for you, so there is nothing to run in Terminal.
An automation shows Fix
Click Fix and VoxyAI sets up what is missing. Texts in briefings also need Full Disk Access: drag VoxyAI into the list System Settings opens. If Calendar access is off, turn it on in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars.
The Judge switch can't be turned on
It needs at least two models, one to answer and one to check. Download a second model in Library > Models > Download.

Does VoxyAI work offline?
Yes. VoxyAI 2.0 runs entirely on-device with Apple Intelligence, MLX, or Ollama, so it works without an internet connection. You only need the internet to download models and updates, or to reach a paired Mac away from home.
Which model should I use?
Open Library > Models > Recommendations. VoxyAI recommends models that fit your Mac's memory and tags each with what it is good at, such as chat, coding tools, or translation. On the Models tab you can pick a default model and separate models for tasks.
Do I need API keys or an account?
No. VoxyAI no longer uses cloud AI providers, so there are no API keys to add and no account to create.
Is VoxyAI free?
Yes. VoxyAI 2.0 is free, with no trial, license key, or subscription.
Is my voice data stored anywhere?
No. Voice audio is processed in real-time and immediately discarded. VoxyAI does not store any voice recordings. See our Privacy Policy for details.
